As a fiduciary advisor, Prospero Wealth charges a flat fee for financial planning, and a percentage fee for asset management. To keep our advice unbiased, we do not accept commissions from third parties.

Asset Management Fee

In addition to financial planning, most of my Financial Planning clients also opt to outsource investment management to me. This involves selecting the appropriate assets and managing both asset location and allocation to achieve your after-tax objectives. I manage them on an ongoing basis and rebalance regularly. This often involves direct indexing or other tax-advantaged strategies to maximize after-tax returns, given the constraints outlined in the investment policy statement.

Prospero Wealth charges a blended tier fee for managed assets:

  • 1.0% for assets < $1,000,000 managed portfolio

  • 0.9% for assets > $1,000,000 managed portfolio

  • 0.8% for assets > $2,000,000 managed portfolio

  • 0.7% for assets > $3,000,000 managed portfolio

  • 0.6% for assets > $4,000,000 managed portfolio

  • 0.5% for assets > $5,000,000 managed portfolio

The percentage is applied to the portfolio amount we are managing under custody. Employer retirement accounts that we cannot directly manage are not included in the managed portfolio amount (e.g. most 401(k) plans).

Financial Planning Fee

Financial planning is the foundation of my work. This collaborative process is ongoing throughout the year. The flat fee for a single-person household starts at $3,000 in the first year and $1,500 in each subsequent year. The flat fee for a couple's household starts at $4,000 in the first year and $2,000 each year thereafter. These rates may be higher if the situation complexity justifies it.

Billing Schedule

Initial plans are billed 50% at initial publication and then 12.5% each quarter (in arrears) for one year of implementation and monitoring. All fees (Planning, AUM, and Project) billed quarterly in arrears. AUM fees are annualized and based on average daily balance.
